Do you have any dreams or plans in your life? Some of us have dreams and plans but in real life we are not sure it would be materialized. I remember when I was an elementary student whenever people asked me about my ambition my response is to become a doctor or a scientist someday. I am a curious person even as a child. I really wanted to discover many things it is no wonder why I wanted to become a doctor or a scientist. Did it happen? Obviously no! God has another plan, He called to become an ordained presbyter, which is far from my dream I described above. He is really a God of surprises; even if it is impossible for us to God it is always possible.
It is true that nothing is impossible for God. Look at the birth of St. John the Baptist the last prophet before the coming of Jesus the Messiah. His parents Zechariah and Elizabeth were very old and barren when he was born. For sure they were no longer aspiring to have a baby at their age. They just wanted to serve God in their own capacity. Zechariah as a priest offeror in the temple while Elizabeth was a plain housewife doing household chores. But God’s grace is always working at their lives John was born to complete them to become a family. What then will this child be asked by their neighbors? John the Baptist was the precursor who would prepare the way of the Lord JESUS CHRIST. Did John’s parents know what their child would become? They had no idea but only God knew because nothing is impossible for Him.
In this life what we need is to trust. There are many things that we do not know. Like John, a miracle baby, only God knows what this child will become. Whatever dreams or plans we have in our life; trust God and follow His will. He will never abandon us. He will never forsake us. He is always present ready to extend His hand even in our failures or shortcomings, frustrations and disappointments in life. Let us trust and surrender everything to His will because nothing is impossible to God.
