What is the greatest gift that you have received in your life? This question is answered today by the Gospel reading taken from John 3:14-21. Where we could see Nicodemus who is a Pharisee and also a sympathizer of Jesus Christ has spoken to him secretly at night. He revealed to him the greatest message which is the core of the four gospels. I guess this is also the reason why we need to rejoice as the whole church celebrate the Laetare Sunday.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have the eternal.” Jn. 3:16
This the greatest gift that humanity has ever received since the beginning of time “the LOVE OF GOD THROUGH JESUS CHRIST HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON” There is no other gifts offered by this world like beauty, fame, power, wealth, money and even our own glory could surpass this greatest gift from GOD.
The question now is do you accept this greatest gift? Do you believe in Him? It is important to believe rather than not. There is nothing to lose if we believe him. In fact once we believe and accept we are welcoming his Light. His light is our guide while walking in some areas of our lives where there is darkness.
The temptations of the devil to commit sins are everywhere; it tries to snatch us out from the light to become part of darkness. Thanks to the wonderful gift of GOD’s LOVE given to this world.
We have found the greatest Love in the person of Christ our true Light. The beauty of his radiant light brought by the mystery of his sacrifice on the cross dispels the darkness of death and sins. Let us rejoice and search the meaning of God’s Love in our life through Jesus Christ our Light.
