Indeed, our faith in God is embedded in us but it should be revealed, taught, and encountered so that it will become a jumping board for us to continue Jesus’ mission.
First, it should be revealed. If no one will teach us that there is a Supreme Being, time flies by and we are just living with the flow. Observing and imitating what others are doing and the impact on us is nothing, there is no depth!
Secondly, after being revealed, it should be taught, for us to weigh things, to look for the consequences, to face the realities and to look more deeply on its relevance in our lives. How it will help us to grow not only physically but more so to become a better person? Change cannot lead us to conversion if we will not experience things or persons, changes is the product of what was revealed and what we experienced in life.
And lastly, all our experiences especially our experience with God are encounters with the Risen Lord, Jesus the Christ, and it is ours, very personal. That is the reason why it moves us, changes us, and enlightens us because we, ourselves, are the receiver of everything. Most of the time, we cannot comprehend what is happening but along the way, little by little, God will show us the meaning of it – the very will of God!
Jesus started the “mission” of his Father, his very dream for humanity and we are called to do the same, to continue what Jesus started; what he taught and what he proclaimed. Sometimes all of these are vague and uncertain but let us trust and place our confidence to God – He will make a way to make things clear and understandable!
If we will look back in the salvation history, God fulfills his promise for humankind. It is through Jesus and we are very lucky because we know him, he reveals himself to us and everyday, we encounter him in our very lives, what more we can ask for?
What we can do to continue Jesus’ mission here on earth? Like what St. John Eudes wrote for all of us, “let Jesus live and reign in our hearts?”
How? By FORMING JESUS IN OUR HEARTS AND IN OUR LIVES!
Lord, you always initiate the good things we want to do and we want to follow your lead. Give us the strength and courage to continue to fulfill the dream of your Father and our Father too, so that his “Holy Will” will reign in our hearts and in our lives!
